If you are in Thailand then you just can’t miss out on Ranong. It is a throbbing heartbeat away and even though, it is a small place, it has much to offer. Ranong is close to southern part of Myanmar and is 600kms from Bangkok. It is also the wettest place in Thailand. Amongst the places to visit and things and places you can’t miss lies the small and sleepy town of Wat Tapotaram. This place is famous for its hot springs and you can enjoy the warmth of the boiling water and benefit from the minerals in the water from the hot spring. Another must see place is the Punyaban Waterfall, which is just a 10 minute drive from the Ranong Town and right in the lap of a lush evergreen forest.
If you are a mountain lover and are not scared of heights then Khao Fa Chi is the place to be. The Fa Chi Mountains offer some splendid views of Ranongs landscape and is 259m above sea level. From here, you can get a glimpse of the meandering La Un River that flows into the Andaman Sea.
