Loei Hotels
A perfect gateway destination for exploration of the benevolence of nature and the heritage of ancient culture, Loei is as charming as they come. Located in the Northeast, Loei is nestled among high hills and many mountains. This northernmost part of the Thailand’s Northeastern region’s name means ‘beyond’ or ‘to the farthest extreme’; an aptly deserved name indeed.
Staying in Loei means waking up to the earthy smell of fog and the music of the chirping birds perched up on tall trees. It means treating yourself to the bounties of nature in the form of numerous verdant hills and mountains, gurgling brooks, mischievous rivers, and lush and blooming flora and fauna.
Situated at a height of 400 meters above sea level, Loei’s proximity to the Phetchabun Mountain Range has prompted many to dub it as the ‘land of seas of mountains, and the coolest in Siam’. Spread majestically in an area of 11,424 square kilometers, Loei is about 520 kilometers from Bangkok.
When in Loei, visitors must explore attractions including Phu Kradung, Phu Luang and Phu Reua National parks, as well as Tha Li and Chiang Khan Districts.
Geographically, Loei has three distinct land forms – high mountains on its western side, the foothills and plains in the east and south, and the natural depression in the basins of the two rivers, Loei and Khong.
Loei is also perhaps, the only province in Thailand that has the gained the dubious reputation of having extreme summers and winters as the mercury touches highs of 43.3 degrees Celsius (around April) or lows of 0 degrees Celsius (around December).
