Koh Lanta is a popular destination among tourists who are looking for peace, relaxation and miles and miles of white sandy beaches. The Island has different terrains from soft sandy beaches to the rugged mountains. There are two adjacent islands called the Koh Lanta Yai and the Koh Lanta Noi.
The island of Koh Lanta Yai is home to the Chao Le also known as the sea gypsies. The island has some great beaches like the Khlong Dao, Kho Kwang, Phra Ae, Khlong Nin, Ba Kan Tiang and Khlong Khong beaches. You can reach Koh Lanta in 2.5 hours by boat from downtown Krabi.
Some of the other great tourist spots in Kohl Lanta include Hin Daeng, which is a spectacular diving spot. From here, you can enjoy the beautiful and diverse coral reefs that have been formed on the Andaman Sea. The Koh Ha is an archipelago of 5 Islands and also provides the opportunity to dive into the sea to catch a glimpse of the colorful coral reefs. The water around these islands is quite shallow. The small island of Koh Ngai has some of the finest sandy and un-spoilt beaches that offer tranquility and a blissful holiday. You can reach Koh Ngai by hiring a ferry from the Pak Meng Pier in the Trang province. Some of the other hot spots in Kohl anta include the Koh Rok islands, the limestone caves on the Koh Talabeng island, and the Mu Koh Lanta National Park.
